Qatar is a Middle Eastern country that seamlessly combines modern infrastructure with ancient traditions. It’s famous for its falconry, camel racing and traditional dhows, but also for its first-class watersports, classy restaurants and contemporary skylines. The tiny peninsula jutting into the Arabian Gulf is effectively a city-state, with most hotels sitting within the capital city of Doha. But the desert landscape makes a great playground for 4x4 adventures and hides some remarkable historical sites.
