Amazing place and extremely good value. As others have mentioned, Fred and the front team at Hotel Mar/Don Taco where you check in are really nice and helpful, they take you around to the secluded house that is owned by the brother of the hotel owner. You can park on site for free and it’s safe. 400m down to town where nice restaurants are available. Close by shops also for everything you need. Bit of a climb back up hill but it’s good for the health. Highly recommend using this place for a couple of nights stay or more. Enjoy!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how this gem is tucked away behind the hotel. You are close-by to help if you need, but you are still far enough to get your full privacy. It’s quite a romantic hideaway. I’d say it suitable for a couple or a small family (due to the sleeping arrangements). The shower pressure is remarkable but the size of the shower is outstanding-biggest shower I’ve ever seen. The tree branches will sway back and forth against the windows, which creates this peace and tranquility vibe for your slumber. Once you are ready to go explore the town, it’s just minutes away. You can’t help but fall for the incredibly unique allure of this jungle casa. 10/10 recommend!

Poor Check in

The place was very cute but the check in for us was a nightmare. Could not get in contact with anyone and couldn’t find the exact location. Hotels.com was on the verge of finding us another place because nobody would answer the phone at the number provided when luckily another property owner knew of the place and helped us find it. Should just say in the listing to check in at Mar hotel or Don Taco.

Awesome stay!

The house was awesome! Great location to walk around the town. But of an uphill hike but wasn't too bad. The hot water was non-existent so that was kind of a bummer for showers. Saw lots of cool birds just outside our bed-side window

Anthony and Manfred are great. Really helpful and friendly! Location is also excellent. Only hard thing is the noise from the wind/trees on the roof which made it hard to sleep! But other than that it was an excellent stay.

Comfort and luxury at an affordable price

What a gem! This tiny house in the trees is well worth a stay. It's a completely self-contained house on the property of a hotel. Hosts Anthony and Manfred were delightful and very willing to help with anything. The house itself is very comfortable and cosy and private. The only negative was the erratic nature of the water pressure. Everything else was perfect. Good strong dedicated wifi, walking distance to Santa Elena stores and restaurants. breakfast available onsite, fruit trees, birds, and a beautiful wood-and-glass, well-appointed house in a treed setting. Would definitely stay here again!
Bathroom with a skylight and a lovely shower! Also a large closet/storage area that was very useful.
The bedroom is small but the bed is very comfortable!
My hubby at the kitchen counter. The chair squeaked, but it was lovely nevertheless.

I loved the house and kitchenette. I just think they need to have the basics for people so when cooking they don’t need to go purchase. Coffee, sugar, salt pepper etc.

Gorgeous property with a beautiful view

We loved everything about this place. My husband is an architect and I booked this thinking he'd love it. I wasn't wrong. The whole thing is built out of teak wood and there is a gorgeous deck in front of the bedroom, overlooking a HUGE fig tree (thus Casa Higueron) with a hammock. Although it's still close to everything, you still have the sense that you are out in nature. I cannot recommend this place enough. I would love to downsize my own house to this as it is perfect for a couple with no kids to live in and great for a family only staying a few nights.
