My husband and I stayed here and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and amenities. We were a little nervous with other reviews mentioning bed bugs and cockroaches. However, there were NO bugs in our room. Everything about the bedroom and bathroom were clean and well kept. Staff were very kind and accommodating. The second day, the staff asked if we wanted our room serviced. We said yes and walked into the smell of bleach. Everything was refreshed, clean, and orderly. We absolutely loved the pool and garden area and the shared patio area on the second floor. This was the perfect quick trip spot for what we needed. The room felt very spacious with several outlet options which is always much appreciated. The A/C ran great and was easily adjustable. The water pressure was decent in the shower, and we had no complaints with the temperature adjustment. We didn’t have a car with us but they had plenty open spaces for guests as well.

Front desk staff is great. Hotel room was old but okay. Bathroom could have been cleaner; there was hair all over the tub. Could not use microwave without tripping the circuit shutting off the refrigerator. Very noisy. No soundproofing at all. Could hear everything, people, traffic, elevator, etc.

the pictures are completely misleading. The shots take. are no where near the location. This is a typical, built in the early 80s run down motel. The pull is a small embarrassing puddle and there are no views. Felt a bit ripped off from the pictures.

I stayed at the Ocean Reef Hotel from Feb 13 to Feb 14, and the highlight of the stay was definitely the location. It’s close to the beach, restaurants, and everything you’d want easy access to while in Fort Lauderdale. Very convenient and walkable. The room itself was comfortable enough, but it could use some maintenance and updates. A few fixtures and finishes showed signs of wear, and refreshing these would really improve the overall guest experience. Despite that, the staff were pleasant, the price was reasonable, and the location made the stay worthwhile. With some room improvements, this property could be an even stronger option for future visits.
