We were in Jamaica for 2 weeks for an adoption so we spent a lot of time in our unit. Having access to our own kitchen was great so we could save some money from eating out. We didn't realize there would be so many ants to contend with while there. If we left a dirty cup in the sink without washing it immediately, it'd be full of ants within a couple minutes. Tiny ants or spiders were all over the floor and often on the stove, sink, etc. We tried spraying, but they kept coming. There is no washer or dryer so you can either find a laundromat or we just washed clothes in the sink and hung them out to dry. The shower appeared to have a hot water option, but it was either cold or scalding hot so we took lukewarm/cold showers mostly. We were given toilet paper and 2 bath towels. I did a lot of cleaning myself because inside the cupboards were filthy.... and of course, ants. It was a bit confusing getting to our unit because we were essentially renting from someone that owns/rents the condo I think and the security guards at the front gate always wanted to her to call when we'd come in until eventually they got used to our faces. There were 2 fans on the main level and the air conditioners are only in the bedrooms. The grounds looked well kept as far as the garden items, but there was bits of garbage strewn throughout. We felt safe there - there's a security system you arm at night. We appreciated the park across the street. You will need a working cellphone unless you have a car.
