I was really disappointed with our stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach. The property is huge, with multiple towers and constant expansion, but the pools are far too small for the number of guests. Unless you claim a chair at 5 a.m., there’s no chance of finding one, and the pools themselves are so overcrowded you can barely see the water—just a sea of people and floaties. This made them dirty and unappealing, so we didn’t use them at all, which was a shame with a child.
The room was okay but outdated, with a bathtub and shower curtain instead of a proper shower. Everywhere on the property felt overcrowded—restaurants, shops, even walkways. Without advance reservations (possibly months ahead), getting a family-friendly dinner at a decent time was impossible.
Overall, the hotel is simply too big for its amenities, and it’s not equipped to handle the number of guests it attracts. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.
