I'm sorry to say, The Grand is nothing even close to its name. It should be named The Disgusting. The pictures online are nothing like the rooms in person. First, the door to my room didn't fully seal. There was an opening where light still came in. The window covering was just a thin paper pull down. It didn't darken the room at all, when trying to sleep. While I stayed there, I saw at least 4 roaches. The television didn't offer local channels, just Amazon Fire TV. The only things I could say nice about this place was the staff were friendly and the bed itself was very comfortable. Basically, it's a place to sleep. Nothing more. It really needs to be condemned, dozed down, and rebuilt to a better "motel." M

The staff were amazing. I have zero complaints about the staff. My issues is that it was never reported on the hotels.com app that this hotel was going through major renovations. I had booked a king non smoking but because of the renovations, i was stuck with 2 doubles and it was a a smoking room. The door to the room was damaged, it latched but did not close completely. The inside door handle was surrounded by duct tape. I did not sleep well because of the issue with the door. We were traveling from PA to College Station, TX because my step daughter was graduating. It was late and we were too exhaused to look for another one. smoking room.

Really old motel still in the middle of remodeling. You get what you paid. I didn’t have high expectations initially due to the cheep price. Check-in was OK. However, the front desk told me breakfast was not included. That was wrong and it is on my reservation. Room has smell, the toilet flush got leak. The front desk guy was friendly. Location was OK. There was not blankets in the room. I asked and the front desk guy said they did not provide but gave me a few bed sheets.

In need of repairs

Definitly in need of repairs and upgrades. The bed was very comfortable but under the bed looks to have never been cleaned/swept. Need to take the pool out off the location because its a complete mess and disgusting to even look at. The lady at the front desk was the friendliest person though. For the price and only needing a couple hours sleep it wasn't that big of a disappointnent.

False advertising

The pictures that are advertised are taken from when it was originally The Magnuson Hotel. It looks like a beautiful, clean, luxury hotel. Trust me it is NOT. It's ghetto... outside was in disrepair and sketchy and the inside was dirty. There was A LOT I could go into but I won't. I will say the bed was extremely comfortable, the AC worked good, and the shower was nice with hot water and good pressure. It was okay after I bought a blanket, (because they only had a sheet on the bed) and I bought air freshener and cleaning supplies, and insisted they fixed my door so it would shut all the way and latch. But it was a sketchy place to stay, especially for a woman traveling alone.

Room wasn’t clean even though the Front desk/assistant manager, Lakesiha Brown, called housekeeper to make sure room was ready for check in. She said it was. I walked into a dirty room. Hair was everywhere, floors wasn’t swept, dead roaches in drawer. But Lakesiha was very sweet and understanding when I informed her of my room. She allowed me a later check out. Huge thanks to Lakesiha who not only worked front desk but cleaned rooms in between. Thanks for all your help!
