The hotel is well appointed, clean, and modern. It has an up-scale feeling to it, and is generally very comfortable.
The roof-top lounge is worth a visit, and the restaurant food is high quality and well presented. It still feels pricey for what it is, but not too pricey.
The staff is generally excellent, and overall I had a positive experience.
That said, I had a few very negative interactions with one or two of the more senior and older/mature looking members of the staff. They were consistently gruff, came across as rude, and borderline unprofessional. Their behaviour compares very poorly to the rest of the crew.
Since they're still employed, I assume they are the hotel management. I didn't ask.
One particularly poor experience was when I called down to ask about late checkout. For context, I was in an "accessibility" room. I have some mobility issues, and this is a room designed to be more comfortable for people like me.
I called at 11:10, and was told to vacate by 11:30. The call was handled by what I assume is a manager. I met him again on the way out - he was running the reception at the time.
Thinking that the 20 minute deadline is some sort of gaffe or mistake, I made the mistake of checking. I asked if this is standard hotel policy or some kind of emergency.
He made it clear to me that it's not an emergency, not hotel policy, and that he didn't appreciate being called out like this in front of other guests.
Barely-contained rude and unprofessional.
