Great, until a hyatt event ruined it

The hotel and staff were great. Everything was so clean and well looked after. We really enjoyed our holiday, however after 1 week our holiday was then disrupted daily for wedding's (one per day for our 2nd week) where the main infinity pool would be blocked off all day despite the wedding's not starting until 6pm. Even worse than this was a massive event (which we were told was for the travel sales staff of hyatt) which completely took over the hotel; both the infinity and kids pool was taken over by walkeays being constructed across them. The beach wasnt accessible to guests, some restaurants closed plus on one day there was a pool party with a DJ, with food and drink stalls in the pool area. The BBQ smoke blew across the kids pool, the DJ was horribly loud, as guests we were told we couldnt walk through or make use of anything on offer. None of this we were given prior warning of either, or an apology or compensation, soo disappointed as This really did ruin the end of our holiday.

Good experience

Check in was very fast, missed the welcome drink though as it was not offered. Received an upgrade in the room for a very spacious suite with beautiful views. We booked the Preferred Club as we had stayed previously in other Dreams resorts and is necessary. We had a designated area in an adult pool restricted to prefer club. Outside this area it was VERY crowded. The beach is not that big, but good enough to enjoy the sound of the waves and a good walk. A la carte restaurants, food was good but very slow, having to wait for an hour for the food. Service was great. I wanted to mention our waiter Allan, in Oceana. Not only he gave us great recommendation for food but went beyond giving us a great explanation/teaching about Mezcal, I also wanted to recognize Damian, who was in charge of the pool area. Despite all the physical work in very hot conditions, he was always doing so with a big smile in his face and making sure everyone had what we needed for a great experience.

I would come back! It’s a smaller resort which was perfect with small kids and larger family to stay central and close to everyone, we traveled with my parents and sisters family. Always gotta get chairs early but we only needed 4 to work from, had 2-6 on each day, yes had to get early in morning. Only downside was buffett was smaller than I would have thought compared to every resort I’ve been too. As a picky eater that was unfortunate but I made due. Everything was great and typical of good resorts. Great for small children, small water park but it’s in the shade so colder water, lazy river was great and small kiddie pool was awesome that’s where our chairs were. Big pool for rest of peeps right next to kiddie, couple water slides and a zip line. Our kids in our group were 16,14,8,5,2 fyi we had a double room which was great my 16,14 had their own room and we stayed with the 2 yr old on the other side, was perfect. Staff was great like usually in Mexico. Enjoyed it and would recommend.

We will be back! We loved it so much!!! It’s a wonderful place for families and singles. We ordered room service often and everyone who works there is polite and helpful (tip them, they’re such hard-working staff). There is a daily nacho bar, hot dogs, hamburgers and fries for lunch by the main pool. There are so many choices including big slides and kid specific slides. They have yoga, volleyball (on the beach and in the pool), Zumba and a variety of entertainment (singers by the pool, bingo etc) everyday. Each night they have amazing performers. The food was good and there was a great variety. My son cried when we had to leave. It’s a truly a beautiful place with great employees. Omar and Antonio are the best waiters :) *the only reason for not giving all 5 stars was there not being enough patio chairs as well as my room had a spackle tool left in the room when we first entered it, my son almost cut his hand (I’m sure it was an honest mistake).

My wife and I recently stayed at this resort to celebrate our anniversary, and while there were some highlights, our overall experience was mixed. The staff were a standout—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. The food was tasty and well-prepared, though the menu became repetitive after a few days, lacking variety. We splurged on a swim-up room to make the occasion special, but it turned out to be a disappointment. A strong gas sewer smell right by the pool made it unusable, and we ended up keeping the door shut the entire time. When I asked about switching rooms, I was told it would cost extra, which felt unfair given the situation. It was frustrating to pay a premium for something we couldn’t enjoy. Overall, the staff’s kindness was a bright spot, but the swim-up room issue and lack of flexibility left us underwhelmed for what was meant to be a special getaway.

I enjoyed myself at the resort. It was a great experience. I stayed at a resort in Jamaica and Dreams was 10x better!

We really enjoy our stay at this property. This time I did notice a smell in our room, maybe a little mildew, and there was more noise than the last time we were here. It was also very busy and challenging to find pool chairs. Overall, very fun for our family of 4 and would recommend!

We stayed in room 3800, ocean front master bedroom, and it was huge. It has its own plunge pool, 2 balconies and 4 sliding doors to outside. You get a butler with this room who can make dinner reservations at all restaurants. The beach is nice and the resident crocodile is fun. Security keeps everyone safe from him/her. Food is good with a couple of hits and misses. Service is excellent.
