Great historic hotel. Friendly staff. Good location in the French Quarter but not on Burbon. We liked Royal Street better. Walkable distance to streetcar lines, which are cheap and easy to use for further travel.

Leroy at the front desk was great!!! The cleaning could have been better but it was okay. She made sure we had clean sheets and towels daily. The building needs repairs, like the porch seems like it will collapse soon. The Owner stopped providing coffee in the lobby

I booked Andrew Jackson for a last minute trip last weekend. I researched the website, so even though I paid for the hotel through hotels.com, I knew to expect a $50/night parking for valet, knowing we needed to have $100 set aside for that. On checkin, the person said we owed $200 - for what we have no clue. We thought perhaps a deposit, but it hasn't come back, and we have pics on how the room was left, which was fine. My daughter paid it, because what are you going to do at that point? But it cost them going on a tour, which started the trip with disappointment. On checkout, the valet said it would be an hour to get the car (!!!). The room was fine. We knew to expect that, and thin walls, because of research. So, never again. I don't like bait and switch dealing. I've never had that experience with a hotel before and I've traveled to NOLA since 1985. And never through hotels.com which I use for nationwide business travel regularly. Don't be fooled by the nightly room rate. The Andrew Jackson lies.

I booked two rooms at this property. Both at a very similar price point. The one I booked for my friends was spacious, comfortable and adequate considering the affordable price point of the hotel. My room however, room 211, was NOT acceptable. I am not one to ever leave bad reviews but this room was night and day. Bed was squashed with heavy divots. A dilapidated spring mattress. Microwave and fridge were on the ground. No room to unpack. Shower head filthy with grime, light switches broken. Our friend’s rooms were spacious and comfortable. I recommend this hotel IF they don’t put you in the weird loft of room 211. Management was unwilling to solve this issue or move us to another room. Staff was lovely.

The staff were kind and friendly. The building is not well kept. Two holes in the bathroom wall with tissue stuck in it. The bathtub felt like it was going to cave in when you stepped into it. The smell of raw sewage was overwhelming and lasted our entire stay. The vents are filthy. No outlets to plug anything in an there was a random industrial extension cord ran across the room to light a lamp. We were on the first floor and we could not use the windows they were shutters closed. The windows shook when anyone playing loud music passed by. There were a lot of passerby’s and you can hear every word outside.

Cockroaches. The location was great. The outside of the building is beautiful. We found cockroaches (multiple) walking up the walls and under our bed. The staff did their best to try to accommodate at another hotel location. Needless to say, we checked out and went somewhere else. Sad because the location was fantastic and the building itself is beautiful.

Amazing staff. Thanks Cassidy for the upgrade and recommendations. Area is awesome close to everything… Finally comfortable beds, and an outdoor courtyard to smoke , as well as morning coffee. Almost perfect 4.5 stars would have been 5 but a couple little but unimportant things at least to us. Smaller rooms. Could have used a chair or safe or microwave although fridge was great. And water pressure could have been better. All those are little things in comparison as all the important things got a perfect score. Thanks agin would recommend

staff was helpful and prompt in handling concerns. The room was dated which was to be somewhat expected due to age of hotel, but the thermostat was falling out of the wall, actually looked like it was barely hanging in the wall. Toilet ran constantly and TV really didn't work. Of course, we were feeling good enough by the evening none of that mattered lol. I understand not messing with the integrity of the historicness of the hotel, but simple cosmetic fixes could make it a difference in the astheicness of the room.

The AC was good, the room was clean when I first arrived but housekeeping doesn’t really make it much more clean after your stay. They only change the towels and bins. I didn’t have a bedside lamp or hairdryer in my room which would have been nice. The facilities do need a lot of TLC but the age of the property has a very charming quality and the courtyard is beautiful. I would request to not stay in the lobby rooms as it is incredibly loud. I had to swap rooms for a courtyard room and after that I had a pleasant stay.
