It gets said a lot, about a lot of places, but this really is a little Oasis near Downtown PS / Arenas. Very nicely maintained & unassuming from the outside. Very tranquil neighborhood. Its contactless checkin meaning access is via email/messaging. I really look forward to staying here again.

If you are looking for a clean, quiet, lovely stay in Palm Springs- this is the place. It was perfect for what I was looking for. My room was perfectly clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The pool area was quiet and clean. There is no working hot tub, otherwise 5 stars all around. I’ll definitely be back!

This property is tucked right up against the mountains behind Palm Springs just across the street from Palm Springs Tennis Club. It has a very nice old school Palm Springs feel. We walked to the Palm Springs Art Museum and did a loop hike from the parking lot up the mountain and over to Ramon Rd and back to Desert Hills then relaxed by the pool. Very very relaxing stay.

Very quaint and clean. Easy walk down to shopping and restaurants. Nice pool area. Check in is a bit strange without a front desk or ability to drop off bags if you arrive early but the guy across the street at Orbit Inn looked after us. My friend had suite 1 which was remodeled and beautiful. I had room 8 which needs a refresh.

The Desert Hills property is small and quiet. We liked the location near the base of the mountains and walking distance to town. The room was clean and fit the retro style vibe. We liked having convenient parking and a rear entrance/exit to our room so we weren't walking past everyone going in and out. The staff (Lauren) were very helpful and nice. The only drawback was that the spa was under renovation, we'd like to have known that ahead of time; otherwise and excellent stay.

Who needs big? Who needs commercial?

We absolutely loved this mid-century modern hotel. It was exactly what we were looking for: really cool, clean, quaint, close to downtown, exquisite Mountain View’s. The pool is the focal point, and the water was perfect. An added plus is the full kitchen! And I have to talk about the other guests. Everyone we visited with poolside was delightful. We loved getting to know a little bit about the guests. They were warm, friendly, and absolutely delightful. Can’t wait to return to this Palm Springs gem!

We had the most amazing weekend staying at Desert Hills! We loved the peaceful atmosphere, and appreciated the other guests abiding by the quiet enjoyment code. It was a real treat to be able to swim in the pool without kids screaming and doing cannonballs (don’t get me wrong, I love kids!). The property staff were so wonderful and very responsive, even providing restaurant suggestions and wishing my husband a happy birthday! This was just the peaceful relaxing weekend that we were looking for together - Thank you Desert Hills! We will be coming back soon!

Mini Getaway

Loved my stay at Desert Hills! Everything was perfect, the room was clean, bed was comfortable and the pool was perfect. We booked the Vintage Kitchenette, it had everything we needed and more. On one of the nights we decided to cook. The hotel had bbq grills for us to use. All the extra amenities were great. Favorite part was how quiet this place was and very private. Night swimming in the pool was relaxing. Location is walking distance to Downtown Palm Springs. I’m definitely staying here again and telling all my friends. Perfect Couple Getaway!!!

One of the cooler mini hotels I've stayed at in PS. Great design without being kitschy. Location is fantastic for walking to downtown. Disappointed with spa being out of commision - not just a closed sign, it is dug up! I came to PS for pickleball and hiking and the spa was a significant deciding factor to stay here. First world problems, right? But I think this information should be disclosed.

Love this place but a bit disappointed

We have stayed at this classic, small hotel in the tennis club neighborhood for over 10 years, at least once a year. We love its mid-century feel and the quiet location so convenient to downtown (easy 5 block walk). It has been sold recently (2 yrs ago?) and I feel that it needs some TLC. The jacuzzi isn't working, there are no free bikes anymore, the bathrooms especially need remodeling and the breakfast goods in the communal kitchen are no longer, although there were some nice goodies and fizzy water in our room to enjoy along with a Keurig coffee maker and good Peets coffee. We would still stay here but I hope that the new owners invest some more time in the upkeep.
