You. could access Osaka station from the basement of the hotel. I suggest taking a taxi to/from Shin-Osaka with luggage (about 1500Y) so worth not having to fight the crowds at the station with luggage.

Pros: central location, easy access to trains, comfortable beds, clean bedding. Bathroom was mostly clean besides the shower curtain (mild mildewy smell). Mini fridge useful. Visiting Osaka as tourists for 3 days, we mostly returned to our room at night to rest and sleep. Cons: 1) beeping/chirping from the crosswalk VERY loud and noticeable, goes on til after midnight, will go off overnight if someone crosses. 2) Room felt a little dirty - stains on carpet, marks on walls (probably from suitcases), dust along the headboard, crumbs on the vanity. 3) Entry way smells like cigarettes, the vent from the smoking room upstairs probably empties into the entry way. Room freshener in the entry was pleasant, but it not enough to mask the cigarette smell. 4) Laundry machines had lint in them, clothes didn’t dry after 2 hours in the dryer, had to hang dry in the room. Laundry area was located right next to the smoking room so it was not pleasant having to pass by cigarette smell. In summary, if all you want/need is a central location in Umeda for shopping and a clean bed to sleep in, this place will suffice. We were looking for something a little more, so I would not stay here again.
