Decent hotel. Needs maintenance help and the staff avoid interactions. The breakfast bar area staff could be heard coughing on the other side of wall but not entering the room to refil the empty milk etc. then only left to lock out guests promptly at the end of service hours. Elevator was also not current on it’s license either.

The room smells horrific, even after opening all windows and airing out for several hours I still have a Headache from the smell. Pillows are so flat, hard, & old it's impossible to sleep. Upgraded to a suite but upon arrival was told those rooms are not pet friendly although I double checked my confirmation room type and it does not state no dogs allowed. Instead we were put in a mediocre room and not offered any concession for the trouble. Elevator broken. Towel rack broken. Street noise excessively loud, too loud to sleep. "Off leash pet area" is a small patch of grass, not enclosed and not safe as dogs can easily run into parking lot. Worst hotel stay in the last 10+ years

Definitely not what was advertised. The room was dirty. The Murphy bed was disgustingly dirty. We put sheets on every place we sat. The pool and hot tub was so old. The outdoor furniture had no cushions. The outdoor heaters didn’t work.

My friends and i arrived in our original room only to find a dirty shower, filled with soap bar residue and hair. We were then transfered to another room, which was okay at first. But then one of the showers had a major malfunction. Maintenance wasn't able to repair it until the next day. I was also told by the night manager that he could take a night off of my final bill, but come checkout( no luggage carts available even when told so by the way) i was told i still had to pay the full amount with a note only left discussing a discount, not a night off. And the " discount" still has to be reviewed by the main manager.

Location is wonderful but complex needs updating or replacement of old worn out beds , peeling ceilings paint. Shower Plumbing issues, The outer landscaping and cleanliness was obvious in need of some care around complex. Also spoke with a lot of other vacationers an there were equally dissatisfied with complex. Note Don't bother to get up early to attend the so-called" continental breakfast"it's a joke .

The hotel seems small but charming and a great place to stay in Monterey. It's also really easy to get to Carmel 10min drive . The beds were incredibly comfortable and the fireplace helped create a cozy environment in the living room. Parking was free which was a big plus. Breakfast was really a quick grab and go type of setting, perhaps a snack bar. Quaker Brand Granola Bars, snack size individually package cereals, coffee, juice, bagel wrapped in saran wrap. There is no Gym but the hotel offers a complimentary gym pass to Gold’s Gym at the mall across the street only if you already have a membership with Gold's gym (at least that's what we were told at the front counter). In the end for the amount of money paid for 3 nights it was well worth it, I would definately recommend staying here for a convinient place to tour Monterey and Carmel.

It is a 3 star and rightful is. Read the fine print on this one. Very little to no extra bedding is provided in the room or at the front desk. A paper posted in the elevator said to call housekeeping during the day. That doesnt work when you are just staying overnight and check in during the evening hours. Room was clean not spotless as the couch had a nasty stain.Townhouse balcony room, murphy bed was softer than the upper level king bed which was very firm with flat pillows. Shower/tub combo was fine. Little sparse on towels. Mini fridge didnt work amd the microwave with the fridge get blocked when the Murphy bed is down.

Pros: Great dog friendly hotel with its own private grass area near the pool to go potty. There was a free continental breakfast... I wasnt interested in the offerings however it was free. I did like the little origami towels and tissues in the room. Close to a shopping center so if you forgot anything its like a 3 min drive.... petco is also there if you forget anything for your pup. Cons: The couch furniture was dirty with weird white and gray stains... even brown stains.... I stayed in the townhouse room 313 and I wouldnt even attempt to sit on any of the couches. The floor boards had minor scuffs which was fine. This room was super noisy... not from the neighbors but from the windows... the windows face the street and any car driving by was ridiculously loud. The bed and pillows were cheap and stiff. You would have to be dead tired to fall asleep on this bed. Also the elevator was suck open.... so trekking up to the 3rd floor was a little bit of a journey. Overall: Id be willing to stay here again for the space and the price. Location was convenient and close to the gas station and outdoor shopping center.Id probably put a sheet on the couches, bring my own pillow, and likely bring ear plugs. The stiff bed I could live with
