Staff were wonderful. Breakfast is an extra charge, but had a good selection. No AC, which is usual for this area, but when we were there it was a little warmer for the area so the room was a little uncomfortable. Thankfully you can open the windows and the staff provided a fan, so we managed. The restaurant at night requires a reservation, which we did not realize ahead of time, so we had to find somewhere else to eat, so make reservations if you want to stay on-site. The food looked delicious, I was sad to not be able to eat there.

I was late arriving at the location, the reception had a number to call - a pleasant lady showed up and checked me in. i was leaving early the next days so she made me a take away bag for breakfast, it was really delicious. My stay was short, only 7 hours in total but comfortable and welcoming. recommended for both business and recreational purposes, the buildings and grounds are really beautiful.

The main advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the ferry. The hotel is functional, not luxurious. Most rooms are not furnished / have the character of a country hotel as featured in the online photos; they are basic! Insufficient sockets, heating not working, lumpy pillows and poor quality linens and towels. The hotel is understaffed (the guy who checked us in on reception was simultaneously serving in the restaurant and showing guests to their rooms .... he is also, apparently, the gardner!) Other staff were not particularly friendly and their English was very limited (considering a large number of their guests are travelling to/from the UK). However, breakfast was good (chargeable)... I particularly liked the fact that there was an egg boiler available to guests. The hotel is in a quiet area within easy driving distance to Caen, the Normandy beaches, Pegasus bridge and the excellent Caen Memorial museum. We would probably not stay here again.
