The breakfast was not great and there was lots of construction in the area. The pool and hot tub were nice however the construction across the street was really loud so I made it hard to enjoy especially during the day. Room was decent however there was construction or some kind of repairs being done on our floor which started early in the morning. There are options to park on the street in front of the hotel which helped keep it more affordable.

The hotel is only 10-15 mins from SeaWorld and San Diego zoo which is why we choose to stay there. It is outdated but clean enough if you are only going over to spend the night. I would not stay there again, the elevator was almost creepy and torn down and breakfast included ends at 9am. And because it's California, of course there is a daily parking fee.

I have never done this before, but our stay was subpar. We almost left after check-in because our room was not clean. The mattresses on the bunk beds had pee stains, the pillowcases on the king bed were stained, and bathroom did not appear to be very clean at all. The manager moved us to a different room on the floor, as the whole floor was under renovation. The second room was a bit better, but even the newly renovated room had old mattresses and pillows that were not much better than the others. The pillows were so flat and hard that we had to stack two to be somewhat comfortable. We decided to stay, but were next door to a family whose child screamed most of the time we were there. We had to pay an additional $78 for parking, a $40 fee for checking in one hour early (which we got refunded because we had to switch rooms), and a $150 security deposit that I still have not received credit back for, even though we checked out 4 days ago. We will not return to this property.

The hotel put a dozen of teenagers into single rooms all over the hotel. Too many people. Needless to say They ran out of eggs, sausage, even toas every morning during my whole stayt. My card was charged before I checked in even though I chose to “Pay at the Property”. I had asked for the previous room I used last time and they put me in a more expensive room that had 2 bunk beds I did not need, just for that I was charged an extra $300. Manager was rude and said they have started people before they check in because too many people are not serious even though this was my 4th time staying with them and obviously my last

Staff was friendly and our room was comfortable but what made the experience terrible was upon trying to use one of the elevators on our floor, the door almost shut on my partner as they were going in to the elevator. We stepped back and again the elevator door almost closed while I was about to go in. We let someone at the front desk know about it but my companion now has a big bruise on her forearm from where the elevator door hit her. That incident unfortunately will not be having us come back in the foreseeable future.

Our room only had warm water (middle setting). There was no hot. It was cold on both ends for the shower. Not only that, when we got to our room, there was no shampoo, conditioner, hand soap nor lotion. This is not typical compared to our past Best Western stays.
