Not worth the money. Firstly I’d like to say that we didn’t have any interaction with the staff (apart from check in), so this isn’t a reflection on their service but more on the hotel and room.
I’d like to start off by saying we left a day early and checked into another hotel…
I can only assume the renovations were done to the lobby because our room and hallway did not reflect those claims of a $20m upgrade.
1. The room was tiny (and yes we were given the size of the room), and going from the photos on the website, it’s very hard to judge the dimensions. Regardless, for two travellers with suitcases and hand luggage, there is simply just not enough room.
2. There was a lot of hair in the bathroom when we arrived (we got there at 2am, so plenty of time to clean). Pretty gross.
3. The air conditioning was so noisy, intermittently making a loud clunking noise, making it very difficult to sleep and stay asleep. The flashing green fire alarm didn’t help the sleep cause either.
4. The low ceilings made it feel very claustrophobic. We were on the 3rd floor but it felt like we were in the basement.
5. The view out of our windows were reminiscent of a Dickensian workshop; filthy, grey and soiled.
6. There was absolutely no natural light, I have video evidence of us leaving the room at midday, and we genuinely couldn’t see each other. On the plus side, if you’re a vampire, you will be in your element.
Sadly I’ve run out of characters. Take heed and tread carefully.
