Not worth more than 3 stars

Other than a pretty view, the hotel is not worth 4 stars, let alone 5. The entire hotel is outdated and needs renovation. The food is heavy and greasy (worst meal we've had in Peru so far). Check-in was listed at 3pm and the room was not ready before 3:30 pm despite limited occupation of the hotel. I contacted the hotel about the transfer from the airport (which is listed as a service) and only received a reply more than 1h after we had checked-in and had organized our own transfer). Also, we inquired about tours with the hotel and they systematically quoted prices that were significantly higher than every other tour company we spoke to - we ended up booking alternative services because the hotel recommendations were terrible. The beds in the room were also very small and there is no convenient transfer to the city (you need to get taxis on your own). Would not recommend.

This is a great hotel. When coming to the Puno it would my first/only choice. All the staff are very welcoming. Food is great and the room views are wonderful.

Staff super friendly but....

The service and people was great. The only issue I encountered is that my oxygen saturation went down to 76% and my body temp was 102.2 after taking 600mg of ibuprofen which at that point was life threatening. The staff didn't offer to call offered and gave me oxygen for 15 mins. The room didn't have a thermostat but luckily it was cold outside and the windows can be open. They did provide me a thermometer and pulse oxymeter on request. I literally had to survive the night like that, nobody from the staff called or came check on me. I am in the medical field, in the USA those readings are considered a medical emergency. I could have gone into respiratory arrest or cardiac arrest while asleep. The day after when I asked they told me they have a physician on call and I wasn't offered him to come check on me. My recommendation is for the hotel to train their staff about potential medical emergencies and have a protocol. I booked a flight the next morning and returned to Lima. Other than that breakfast, staff friendliness, room comfort and view 100%. I tried to add a photo about my saturation and heart rate reading but didn't let me.

Es un hotel viejo, pero está conservado. Para ser un 5 estrellas le falta. La cama es cómoda igual que el baño. Se escucha todo de los demás cuartos. No pudimos dormir una noche debido al ruido excesivo de las personas de una convención. El desayuno buffete bastante bueno. El personal amable. Los alrededores del hotel es lo que vale la pena. Puedes ver el amanecer o atardecer desde ahí.

What a view

Fabulous hotel in the best location, the views from the rooms is amazing, looking out over Lake Titicaca. Alpacas and guinea pigs running around. It is out of town, but there’s not alot in town so not missing anything. If you’re looking to stay in Puno this is the place to stay.

The place to stay

Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is situated overlooking Lake Titicaca and the view is beautiful, especially during sunset. The staff were wonderful and the hotel amazing. Would have liked to have stayed longer but the trip must go on.

The hotel was lovely with great views of Lake Titicaca and Puno. It is not in the center of activity, so if you want something that you can walk to restaurants and shops, this is not it. The Tranquility and beauty here is exactly what I needed after a hectic week of traveling and sightseeing. The restaurant was great, and staff were very kind and helpful.

Desde el momento que llegamos la atención A1, te hacen sentir como en casa, la vista del cuarto que nos asignaron fue espectacular. En todo momento hubo interacción por parte de ellos con nosotros, mi parte favorita: siempre habia disponibilidad de te de muña y mate de coca para el mal de altura en la entrada. Los desayunos bastante completos sobretodo el jugo verde, el cafe y el queso paria. Los baños un poquito antiguos y para mi gusto le faltaba un poco mas de iluminacion pero amplios. Amenities full. Y como el hotel esta en las afueras del centro, tu puedes pedir un taxi (seguro) por medio de ellos sin recargos. Definitivamente volvería a hospedarme.
