I’ve previously had bad experiences with hotels promising airport shuttles and then not coming through, so I called ahead of time to make sure I could get a 5 am shuttle. I was told I was “down for it.” When I got to the hotel, I recognized it as one of my previous bad experiences, and sure enough, they didn’t have anyone for a 5 am shuttle. I waited nearly an hour for a room even though I had a reservation and then was given a key to a room already occupied. I was given another room with a broken deadbolt; I fastened the latch and pulled a chair in front of the door. This proved to be a good idea as a short time later someone tried to get into my room. I said it was occupied and shortly the security guard appeared to demand my name, but he recognized me from the first room debacle. At 5 am I went to the desk where the clerk told me he “didn’t have a clue” about a shuttle, but he got the security guard to watch the desk and took me to the airport. it seemed to me the staff - desk and housekeeping - were trying hard but had no support. I’ll never stay at a Wyndham property again.
