I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. I booked two rooms at Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port (through Hotels.com) for a work trip from July 7–9, 2025. After a long day, my colleague and I were looking forward to relaxing—but what we walked into was shocking.
Both rooms were absolutely filthy. We encountered mold, stained carpets, dirty sheets, and an overwhelming mildew smell. There were also mosquitoes in the room, which added to the discomfort. We asked to be moved, and the second set of rooms was just as bad.
We didn’t even stay the night—we checked out and had to find another hotel nearby. That’s how bad it was.
While the front desk staff did what they could and were kind, this hotel is clearly neglected. I later reached out to the front desk manager with no response. Eventually, the general manager replied and initiated a refund process, but only after I insisted on a full refund, she only gave us a refund for one night and stated she will not give us “4 free nights”. We NEVER even stayed there so the fact she called it 4 free nights is horrible customer service.
If you're considering this hotel, don’t. It was easily the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I travel often. Until serious changes are made, especially regarding cleanliness, this property should be avoided.
