I've stayed at this hotel several times, and it's always been clean and comfortable. This time was different.
I arrived late after a long day on the road. The front desk clerk told me that the king room I reserved was unavailable, and that she was going to "upgrade" me to a double queen room. She explained that it was an upgrade because I was getting two beds instead of one. I went to the room and found that the refrigerator, while functional, was very wobbly and had duct tape in place of one of the door racks. Worse, I found some small jumping insects in the bed.
I returned to the front desk and they said they just realized they had a king room open. A different clerk went and checked it out, and he assured me that it was in order. I went and found that it had hair in the shower and on the sink, concerning stains on the bedding, and stains in the refrigerator. Since it was almost midnight, I cleaned the shower and sink myself and took a shower. When I walked to the bed, I found hair (not mine) and dirt stuck to the bottoms of my feet.
The day I left, I noticed that the sink did not drain and the toilet did not flush. Shortly after, I found sewage in the shower. I reported it to the clerk, and she shrugged and said someone was working on the plumbing.
I don't know if this hotel has new management or staff turnover, but it is much different than it used to be. I'm glad I didn't bring my mother on this trip!
Also note breakfast is only open from 6:30 to 9:30.
