Incredible views with even better service

Absolutely loved the stay at Hotel Kawa. The property is incredible -- beautiful views right above the town of Salento. The room could not have been better. Very comfortable and the private jacuzzi was a huge plus. The staff, particularly Daniela, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food was also excellent -enjoyed both dinner and breakfast on the property. I would absolutely stay at this property again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxury stay at a very reasonable price point.

Our stay in Waka Mountain Retreat in Salento was fantastic! Although getting to the hotel was a bit inconvenient due to the dirt road that initially seemed sketchy, it was absolutely worth it once we arrived. The location is perfect, giving you the feeling of being in the middle of the forest while actually being just a 5-minute walk from the town. The rooms are beautifully decorated, combining the natural environment with modern comforts. The food was amazing for both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was outstanding. Special thanks to Carlos at the reception and Albany in the restaurant for being so nice and helpful. The only downside was the rooms next to the main building, which have a large window that can be bothersome due to the lack of privacy and noise barrier. We could hear everything when there were food deliveries to the restaurant or pick-ups for excursions, as if there were no walls. However, when we requested to switch rooms, the staff accommodated our request, which was fantastic. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend booking a room away from the main building for a more peaceful experience!

This was a nice change of scenery . Perfect views and relaxation. The staff were wonderful and accommodating . My only cons 1. More options for vegan/vegetarians ( including options dairy free milk ) 2. Restaurant is closed Sundays so it would be nice if they had a little convenience store on the property that sells snacks , drinks etc

Top Hotel mit fantastischen Ausblick

Unglaublich schöner Ausblick, sowie vom Zimmer aus als auch vom Frühstücksraum aus. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Hotel bietet auch viele Aktivitäten an. Massage, Jacuzzi, Sauna (leider muss man bei der Sauna die Türe zu halten da defekt) vorhanden. Zimmer geräumig. Leider etwas frisch im Zimmer (kleiner Heizstrahler ist im Zimmer)

It was a great place to stay, with the benefit of a mountain location and easy access to town by taking a shortcut on the property. Note that it is a good uphill hike back from town. A taxi or tuk-tuk may be a better idea coming back at night. Our room was next to the parking lot and was noisy as trucks and cars came in and out. It was the building right beside the main building. They have more secluded units that I would encourage you to get. I recommend this place.

A real pleasure! Stayed there for one night with my 12 year old son before embarking in an MTB 107 km ride. Couldn’t have made a better choice; Kawa was the perfect beginning. The place, even though not in the centre of town still is walkable through a beautiful path 10 min. Had a cabin with a spectacular view of the canyon. One of the nicest bathroom I have ever encountered. Dinner was an absolute delight. Presentation, quality, innovation and all the details that make a meal a perfect experience. Luis, the hotel manager took care of us in ways that go beyond going out of one’s way. I had the best time with my son but it is obviously the perfect couples getaway.

Overall, our stay was passable, but there are numerous areas that require substantial improvement. Frankly, given the cleanliness issues and the worn-out condition of the towels and sheets, I find it difficult to justify the hotel's price. Starting with the positives: the location was peaceful and offered stunning views, with a convenient path to the town. The breakfast was a highlight, combining a buffet selection with made-to-order main dishes, which I would rate 10/10. Now, addressing the negatives: We stayed for just one night during peak season, from Saturday to Sunday. The jacuzzi was covered in algae. While I understand the intention to reduce chemical use, this neglect led to an unacceptable level of cleanliness. The towels and bed sheets were visibly aged and hadn't been changed recently. In conclusion, despite some positive aspects of our stay, such as the tranquil location and excellent breakfast, the pervasive cleanliness issues and worn-out amenities make it hard to recommend this hotel, especially considering its current pricing.
