Terrible experience — uninhabitable apartment and zero support from the host
I booked Kimberley House, Cape Town through Expedia, and it was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had.
The apartment looked nothing like the photos: it was dark, smelled awful, and the lighting was like in a horror movie.
The fridge was leaking with puddles on the floor, and the elevator was out of order — I had to carry my suitcase from the 7th floor.
I was also charged extra for late check-in, and when I told the host I was leaving immediately because of the poor condition, they stopped replying altogether.
I left the same evening and never stayed there.
Expedia should not allow properties like this on their platform — it’s misleading and unsafe for travellers.
