We picked this hotel based on the star rating. I did not read previous reviews. I wish I had. Check-in was very quick and easy. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. Then we went to the assigned room in a different building. The musty smell when we entered the room was overwhelming. The air conditioner was not on and when we turned it on, the smell got worse and the room got damp overnight. The next day, I opened the window and turned off the AC. It helped the smell but it was pretty warm outside so the room was uncomfortable. Upon check in, we were informed that housekeeping would service the room once in the middle of our 3 day stay. This did not happen at all. We had to go to the front desk in a different building to get clean towels. The facility is dated but was fairly clean. We didn't try the breakfast or use any of the amenities while there. The poor breakfast reviews were enough to make us stay away. We stayed in a king bed suite. It was small but we didn't come there to sit around, so it was okay. The bed, on the other hand was extremely uncomfortable. I think it was actually broken. Everytime I sat on the side of the bed, I could feel a distinct bend. It was just lumpy, bumpy and worn out. There are so many hotels in the area. Next time, we will definitely pick a different one.
