Hotels, great location paid for sweet didn’t get

Well, the fact that I paid for a one bedroom suite and did not receive one bedroom sweep, but I was told I did and then I had a friend staying the same hotel room who got the one bedroom suite which was completely different room, which was much better kind of made me really angry that they tried to tell me that I was getting one and then I didn’t very disrespectful

Lobby fire

We were recently there for a tournament and during our stay at some point in the night around 4:30 in the morning, a shopping cart lit on fire was shoved into the lobby, causing the entire building to evacuate and it took over an hour to get back in and over three hours to get water back on so we could shower and go better day, there was no communication or anything in regards to this or compensation, which made the next night extremely difficult to want to stay. This event traumatize my children to the point where it ruined our trip.

May be after constructions become better!

The hotel has a lot of potential, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. The furniture is a bit dated, and the sofa bed could be cleaner. While towels are provided, they may not always be as clean as expected (hair on some towels). Guests should be aware that extra sheets, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and additional toiletries need to be requested, which seems to be a common practice in many Canadian hotels. The two-bedroom suite comes with a small bottle of shampoo, which may not be sufficient for a group of five. Complimentary water is not provided, but there is a Keurig machine with four coffee pods, and guests can refill it with tap water. With a few enhancements, the experience could be much more comfortable.

Nice stay everytime

The only major disappointment is Hotels.com charging an extra fee for cancelation option although the hotel says they don’t and you can cancel for free up to 7 days prior. The hotel sent a confirmation of booking email stating that it runs renos so it’s loud during weekdays. So if I wanted to cancel my reservation ahead of time , I could loose my extra fee I paid which was about $16/night. This is my favorite hotel in Calgary any time I’ve been in Calgary. It’s spacious, it offers great service and a wealthy breakfast. It’s good value for the money and it’s conveniently located near cafe/dinner, transit, attractions , etc. Note: it’s the AC units are loud , there are old type that fit under the windows but if that was not a major issue .

This is not the first time we stayed at this hotel . We love the location and staff. More so since we can walk to the Saddledome to catch a hockey game . It's also close to 17 th ave. with all the restaurants / pubs . However this hotel is in desperate of need of new furniture / carpet . The couch in our room is all ripped / broken , the coffee table looks like it hasn't been clean in a long long time . .My husband had to fix the hook on the bathroom door ( to hang the wet towel )since it keep falling down . We love the location and staff but it need a lot of help

BW does not disappoint

My BW stay was great. The hotel was kept very clean, in spite of all of the snow and salt on the sidewalks and streets due to the VERY wintery weather. The staff were friendly and professional, especially Diana who was able to accommodate an early check-in after an early flight. House-keeping did a super job - again having to deal with salt on the carpets daily. The complimentary breakfast was a super way to start the day (try the waffles!) with really good coffee and a variety of options. The location is also very good - with loads of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance.
