so i saw a dead roach in the hallway heading towards my room. was concerned a bit, but my room was fine. some wear and tear in the bathroom but nothing super unsightly. the heater was weird in that any temp i set it at would make the room unbearably stuffy and hot within 5 minutes. i was better off just turning it off as it seemed so well insulated, despite it being in the 30s outside and left off all night. breakfast options and coffee were slightly better than expected. food options outside within walking distance. my expectations were pretty low, but it was decent and i would return

The management was unreachable and unwilling to help resolve a booking error. I stopped into the lobby and booked a reservation through Expedia with the help of the counter clerk working. I had to book two separate rooms. The second room was charged for a night two week out but at 11pm at night it was not noticed until the confirmation. I have on numerous occasions tried reaching out to cancel the room at the hotel but management is not willing to refund my money when the reservation date isn’t even until 11/25/25. I tried changing the room date the same night. had to pay again to stay that night on top of them unwilling to cancel the error of the night that was made by mistake, with the help of the hotel staff. I will never choose Microtel as a hotel for future hotel stays.

When checking in the guy presented me with a for that he requires all guests to sign: There is a $250 charge if you smoke in the room; $250 charge if you have a pet that has issues; $75 charge for damages to room….you get the idea. I ask him to show me a room…the carpets are worn in hall and the room had a bad odor so I asked him to show me different room. The 2nd room smelled better but still had an odor. So I told him I won’t sign his form of penalties because with the rooms already having an odor I am hesitant to stay because he could potentially charge hundreds of dollars more. I said I would like to cancel my reservation. He encouraged me to go back through Expedia since I had booked it through them. Expedia reached out via phone and emailed and we’re not able to get my money refunded back. So that $109. My mom and I would not recommend anyone staying at this Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbia Fort Jackson 1520 Barbara Drive, Columbia SC 29223.

The room temperature was comfortable as was the beds. We didn't have the breakfast du to time and those working the front desk were pleasant and strives to make sure we had what we needed in a timely manner. Friendly and helpful staff

The furniture and the bathroom furniture everything was need repaired the water pressure in the bathroom shower didn't come out properly and they gave us the room with a full size bed instead of a queen size bed and they gave us any option we had our room to reserved and it wasn't the correct one all the TV small
