Good vacation but disappointing

Trip started with room we had booked not being available for 2 days, so they put us in a room directly next to the event stage which had blasting music until 10pm. We didn’t have any beds/cribs until 9pm the first night. They didn’t seem to care or provide any service which would make you feel welcomed or heard. Overall the food is bland or bad, but the coffee shop and muffins, and a la carte restaurants are good. The Japanese is the best. Service at the buffet restaurants is pretty bad - don’t expect to get water during your meal (or you’ll get it right before you finish) - the staff just seems miserable and sad. Omelet station was most promising for breakfast, pasta station for dinner given they were both made to order. Kids pool is nice and privileged beach area has nice space and beds. Kids club isn’t welcoming to English speaking families. We had a nice family trip but overall disappointed in the hotel and most of all the service.

The staff at the bars and a la carte restaurants are exceptional. However, the buffet staff seem unhappy and the service there is very bad. We brought $200 just to give as tips but didn’t tip the buffet staff because they seldom refilled glasses or provided any service whatsoever. At one point, a fight broke out in the kitchen. The buffet food is generally poor and anything good is quickly grabbed and seldom replaced in time if you missed it. It has one of the best beaches.

The good: beautiful beach and always able to get a lounge chair, as well at the pool. Beautiful grounds, lots of entertainment options, resort was easy to navigate. Al la carte restaurants were easy to book and were all amazing. Entertainment for kids was also great, my 5 year old loved it. The one day they forgot to give us towels i called the front desk and they were delivered in 5 minutes. The not so good: buffet was not that great despite having a ton of options (as compared to other resorts). Staff at buffet was always lacking (not enough and they seemed very tired). No alcohol at the buffet except wine and beer. The snack bars had rolling hours which was weird, and you could rarely get food and drinks at the same spot. Overall had a great time but would try someplace else next time.

Overall, the experience was good. The food was great and the resort was very pretty. The Steakhouse was absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend the filet mignon. However, we had a couple of concerns. We were in the basic room and there was what looked like black mold by the shower and tub, on our first morning we left a tip for housekeeping and they took the money but did not restock anything or clean. I will say that guest services was amazing and sent someone up right away to service the room, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. The beach is covered in seaweed despite there being a net in place, so they do try, but the clean up was minimal. Every couple of days vendors set up by the lobby and it is near impossible to walk through without being flagged down by at least 3 different vendors.

Staff was very helpful & attentive to all my needs.If Transportation was needed, there were there in 5 min. Staff was so polite & kind. Great resort overall. The only thing that could improve is the bathrooms and the staff not changing the sheets the entire stay. They get pretty sandy, but overall a great resort. I felt very safe the food options were great and staff was amazing and friendly. Will definitely be back

Beach, pools, activities, animation, crepe and pizza stations were amazing. Check in wasn’t easy we waited for 3 hours to get in the room. Room was old and needed renovation. Cleaning was average. Food in general was not good. Options are limited and dinning restaurants are fully booked 2 days ahead. So you get stuck in very limited options. Over all was a good vacation but there is a room for improvement.

We stayed for 4 nights 5 days. Pros : great price overall and great proce to upgrade the room , 20 minutes from the airport, beautiful beachfront location, great amenities, friendly staff, spacious room, bathroom and balcony with a hammock. The buffet always had a variety of local and foreign meals, fruits and vegetables. The entertainment and the classes were also enjoyable. The pool is huge and the bar staff were good. Very family friendly environment. There was a doctor, mini mart, pharmacy, coffee store and boutiques on site. All convenient and with good products. Cons : there is no shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel so you will have to find your way there. Our room did not have power for a day and half before maintenance came to take a look and fix it. Every restaurant on site is only open for dinner service and you have to make a reservation on line but NONE of the restaurants had availability for our stay so the buffet and room service was our only meal option. We had issues with the room key wristband as a good portion of the time it didn’t work. The 3rd party vendors on the beach and the outdoor lobby area were too aggressive and did not take no for an answer the first time. Overall I rate the stay 8 out of 10 despite the cons and I would return to this resort.
