The room was clean, I guess it’d be hard to not clean a 12x12 room with barely any room. The hotel itself was nice but the area is horrible, I hope you know how to fight vagrants if you want you stay here because you’ll get harassed anywhere you walk around the downtown area. Staff was great once you’re inside and the lobby security is great for someone that can open a door. 0/10 chance I’ll stay here again for the sole purpose of the area is trashed, the areas “residents” are problematic. Keep your belongings tight and maybe take some personal defense classes if you wanna visit Oakland lol

Front desk staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The tvs weren’t working when I got there and one of the elevators were down. When I left, both elevators were down. The room was very cute but the hallways were dimly lit and a little creepy, but overall a good budget option.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

I booked the room because ive seen the hotel from the streets and it looked peaceful. There's a veey large comfy terrace. Then I read the reviews and was nervous. Most people complained about lots of things. Cleanliness was not a complaint. That made me feel better. So my son and I and our cat stayed for the weekend. The staff was welcoming and our check in was fast and easy. The room was very clean. It is small and there isnt a dresser, but the room and bathroom was very clean. We enjoyed quiet night sleeps and the lounge area was large and comfy. Cleanliness is my tip priority when booking hotels. The Moxy receives a gold star. I'd sray here again.

Hotel and rooms were great (actual rooms are quite small but nice), staff was professional and kind. Parking was a little annoying as you had to be let into the lot by security at the front desk (though he was prompt and friendly). Lot was across the street, having to call ahead or wait to park was inconvenient. The area felt moderately unsafe at night and was quite noisy, not the hotel's fault just a general observation.

the shower had ZERO water pressure and the flow was horrible, lighting in room was very dim; also the parking was full and they had no recommendations on where to park as there was no street parking, ended up parking up 10 min away in an already crappy and shady neighborhood, would not recommend staying here again

Moxy is a mindset. It belongs to Marriot but it has lots of character. It doesn’t feel sterile, and it offers a variety of activities like trivia night or DJ knights, and games during the week. Their bar is cool and open until 2pm on Thursday. Leilani, David and Thor other front desk coworkers are super nice and took care of my needs. My only complain was the non-working phone (they have bedside stories on it) and and broken AC. They are walking distance from great restaurants and short Ubers from other attractions. I’ll make sure to go back when we are in the area

Moxy was a great experience, no hassles, no issues. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. The location was perfect for my trip due to easy access to the #6 bus going north and 19th Street Bart station.
