Didn’t get off to the best start. A mediocre welcome on arrival, and while other guests in the queue were being offered welcome drinks, we weren’t offered anything.
We also encountered a fairly rude receptionist when asking for a plaster for a cut. We were told, “we don’t have any plasters here”. When I asked the concierge instead, he immediately checked we were okay and brought out a first aid kit.. a completely different level of care.
Avoid room 722. There was loud bass from the club next door until 3am, and the secondary glazing doesn’t close properly. We raised the issue the following morning, but the receptionist didn’t seem concerned. The air conditioning also wouldn’t turn off, we had to phone reception around 12:30am to get it switched off remotely. At £280 for the night, this was very disappointing and put a downer on our 1st wedding anniversary celebrations.
On a positive note, the hotel is visually pleasant, with nice décor and a well‑designed room. The concierge was extremely helpful and without him, this rating would be lower.
