Despite the perfect location and a very good breakfast, the room was poorly maintained and on the last evening the toilet mechanism broke. We received inappropriate and angry treatment from the receptionist and had to stay that night in a room without a toilet!!! We got another room for just the two of us (there were 3 of us) and in this room too the toilet button didn't work, a burnt out light bulb and water leaking from the towel warmer. Very poor maintenance. We didn't ask for compensation and the staff didn't offer compensation, but we left with bad feelings and very disappointed !

Hotel Memphis is within walking distance to a number of fabulous Rome landmarks. Our room was great though a little small (expected for being in the centre of the city) and had a balcony which we used. The included breakfast was wonderful and really set us up for the day.
