Sprucewood Inn, okay sure.

Inexpensive, OLD property with poor maintenance, peeling paint and a generally sketchy feel but reasonably priced and comfortable beds. Don't expect anything nice but if you need a simple, cheap and very basic place it will do.

Comfortable and inexpensive

Great staff! It is comfortable and inexpensive. Not all of the lamps work, but the beds and pillows are comfy. Breakfast is minimal, but good for something quick. We have stayed here multiple times. It is perfect if you have realistic motel expectations.

Ok in a pinch

Arrived very late (12:30am) but was made to wait in a cold vestibule for checkin (door to lobby was locked I’m assuming to protect the young girl working). Reserved 2 double beds (traveling with my teenage son) but was given a room with a king bed and told no others available. First room key didn’t work at all and had to go back to the front of the building to get a second key to a new room (she tried to accommodate by providing a room with a king and a sleeper sofa). Room was very cold - turned heater on and first smelled like it was burning, then smelled like wet dog. This did dissipate as the night went on. Rooms definitely need some upkeep (holes in walls).

Shockingly Nice! Very Friendly!

The overall experience was really good! The staff was very friendly. The rooms aren't new, but have been recently renovated. The beds are very comfy, pillows are good, bathroom clean. There were not outlets by the bed and the lights weren't all plugged in. It is a motel we will go back to.

Not real nice

Dingy room, funny smell, cigarette burn holes in sheets, heater could not keep up with cold outside, big gaps under door. You get the idea. Staff was very pleasant though and the big parking lot was great as we had two trucks and trailers.

I didn’t realize this facility was a “drive up to your door” kind of hotel. I don’t remember seeing pics of that. I immediately didn’t feel safe when I saw that and then this was made worse by the broken lock plate on my door. The smell of cleaning my chemicals in the rooms was strong and very unfamiliar. Not a typical clean smell but rather a harsh chemical smell that my lungs couldn’t tolerate. The clerk at the front desk tried to offer another room and I appreciated that, but my experience was already bad enough that I checked out moments after I checked in.

Right off of the Turnpike so very convenient. Free continental breakfast and WiFi. Refrigerator and safe in room. Not fancy but a good value for a quick stay. Plenty of parking for large vehicles with a trailer. Friendly staff.
