You get what you pay for
The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, there were several issues during my stay that made the experience disappointing.
First, I was never informed that housekeeping had to be requested before 11am, so I went without it. I had to repeatedly walk to the front desk just to ask for fresh towels and extra blankets. At one point, I was even directed to the employee laundry room to grab the items myself, which felt very unprofessional.
The hotel didn’t have connecting rooms available for my family of four, which I understand may be due to ongoing renovations but it still made things less convenient. After a long drive, we were looking forward to a good night’s sleep, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable and made loud creaking noises every time someone turned over.
The pool also had an overwhelming amount of bleach. I smelled like chlorine for the rest of the day after just a short swim.
The only real positive was its proximity to the airport. Other than that, I wouldn’t stay at a La Quinta again based on this experience.
