Hotel staff was great!
We stayed on the 9th floor and were woken up by a disturbance on the street level around 1:30am.
45 minutes of a screaming match in front of the hotel, heard all the way up on the 9th flooor was disappointing for the price we paid. But we loved the staff!

My over all rating would have been excellent if the bed and pillows were better. The mattress was hard and the pillows were flat. Other than that minor issue, everything was excellent.

I wouldn't ever stay in downtown Houston again. I would Uber in and out. The city is to blame for allowing the loud cars & motorcycles rev their engines around the downtown. The sounds reverberate throughout the area. A simple 3 car patrol unit could eradicate this problem via noise citations & forced compliance (proof of correction).
This isn't Marriott's fault. What is, the first room I was given was right next to the elevator. I specifically requested a room NOT next to it. Upon entering the room, it was obvious the maids didn't finish. No soap, beds unmade, dirty sheets on the chairs, garbage cans on the table. A mess. Second room was "nice" but uncomfortable for the price. The price to value ratio is extremely off here. You do not get what you pay for. Two star rating bc of the cost and what you get. It was clean except for the first room.
