Average motel. Room was generally worn (e.g., worn/stained carpet, outdated and dinged-up furniture) but clean. It was pricey, which I know is due to the location (Santa Barbara) but I expect more for the price. The neighbor seems safe, but there were some security issues with the room. The windows were unlocked when we got there (and would have remained unlocked if we hadn't noticed). The door to the room opened with a key card. Once inside, there was no deadbolt or other way to secure the room. In addition, there was about a half inch gap between the door and door frame, letting in light and noise.
