The hotel is very close to the international airport and still very quiet and generally clean. It was probably an army base because the rooms are large and equipments are very simple.

Family room with bathroom of a good size, tea and coffee also in room. Environment around hotel is sparse, but this is to be expected as close to the airport. Small vending machine in reception however, there are a couple of places to eat within 200m. One of these restaurants (Public Grill) has a small selection of groceries and gifts. Shuttle to airport available mainly in peak season and starts as early as 0500. It costs 1500 ISK per person and ten minutes travel time.

Rooms are no where close to what’s advertised. Condition of the room was like a clumsy school dorm. Definitely not recommended to stay here. We requested a better room given what we paid. The staff said they would accommodate but didn’t ☹️

I don't recommend this hotel for numerous reasons. No elevator at an airport hotel where almost everyone staying there has luggage. The hallway was dingy, there are people living in this hotel long-term, the window blinds did not black out the midnight sun.

It is a hostel not a hotel. It's converted from army barracks. Absolutely disgusting. The room, the bedding and the washroom everything is poorly done. It is a rip-off for the prices that we had been charged.

We stayed at ABC the night before we were scheduled to leave Iceland early in the morning. The hotel was easy to find. Rooms are sparse, but we only needed a place to sleep near the airport, and this hotel is perfect for that purpose. I would not consider a longer stay, however. The desk attendants were friendly and very helpful.

It was easy to get in and out of the hotel once you have your code. The room is very clean. They could have just put a microwave on the lobby or somewhere for anyone to use.

The hotel is not at all convenient to the airport, though the airport can be seen from hotel grounds. A drive to the terminal covers about 6.8 km. The hotel has a shuttle, however the last one runs at 8:00 a.m. Surprise! The alternative offered is a ISK5,000 taxi (about $40 at today's rate). Dining was equally inconvenient with all of the options 10 km or so distant. The hotel basically had no services. The blackout shades were damaged, so to lower them required standing on a chair. The bathroom, however, was nice and the highlight of the stay. Very much not recommended if a hotel that provides convenient access to KEF is the goal.

Old and dated

The inside of the building was quite old, not sure if it may have been a military dorm that was repurposed. There's no elevator to get to the rooms on the second floor. There's a nice restaurant in the hotel next door on the second floor, which is convenient. We did get our room number and the key code emailed to us ahead of time.

Our room was dirty. There is no staff onsite so any issues needed to be addressed via email. The room smelled terribly of cats and I had my son and husband sneezing and puffy eyes all night due to this. When emailed they claimed there are never any pets allowed, yet how would they know? No one is there to supervise that! And we had smokers right below us and the cigarette smell and smoke was disgusting! Terrible! Will never go again!

Keep an eye out for ZOMBIES

I cannot recommend this hotel. Keep an eye out for zombies... Check in Desk hours are 8:00-16:00. Directions said desk open from 8:00-22:00. Got here at 17:00, desk closed. No one answers contact number, ever. Had to contact original booking agency. Over an hour to get checked in. (Might have changed to a zombie) The room Walls are near paper thin. Door noises till after midnight. Shower, sink and WC noises also til after midnight. Neighbors next door were up til 23:30. (Guessing most of this was caised by zombies) The property Lovely view of the courtyard. Discarded mattress and other debris all over, but hey its just an abandonded airforce base housing. It has an appoloptic feel, just waiting for the zombies. I've got a 7:00 flight and was really hoping to arrive rested. Guess I'll just have to become a ZOMBIE...
