Dated hotel, damp room and smells in the room.

Ok to lay your head

Was ok to lay your head but wouldn’t want a prolonged stay here I wasn’t in the room for a long time but was glad of that
Marie, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Rooms could do with being refreshed as shower was damaged and there were no plug sockets next to the bed. Had to ask for an extension lead as i have medical equipment i need to pkug in next to the bed. Receptionists were both lovely, helpful and accommodating.
Aaron, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Staff will rude hotel full of immigrants, advertised as having a pool and spa non-existent breakfast advertised as part of the cost of the room this was chargeable but this is probably or possibly and hotels.com issue rather than the hotel
Haydon, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Reasonable hotel with good facilities.

A well stocked hotel with a restaurant, bar etc. Parking is busy so you may have to park on the street. Part of the Accor chain.
Frank, 1-night trip

Very friendly crew. They were flexible for my check out time and supporting with any city information needed.
SAPARGELDI, 2-night trip

Very central to the town centre, near to pubs and restaurants. Very easy to walk to places

4/10 Fair

tired

The room was tiny, with just enough space to get along 2 sides of the bed with the bed shoved into a corner. The hotel is very tired and needs a facelift. Ayr seems very depressed.
Siobhan, 3-night trip

Maria, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The hotel has seen better times and the seagulls on the roof in front of our rooms window made it hard to sleep. But staff was friendly and breakfast was really okay.
Rudolf, 2-night trip

Ayr Mercure

Having read some of the reviews for this hotel I was concerned that it might not be up to scratch. Yes the hotel building is an ugly eyesore but there’s not much can be done about that. The way the building looks is where the bad points end for me. The hotel is in a great location in the town centre, easy access to trains and buses but it also has parking a few short yards from the main entrance. Inside the hotel there a really nice reception and bar, the rooms are a good size and very clean and comfortable. The age of the decor might lead some to think the rooms could look cleaner but they are definitely well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it’s easy access everywhere if you’re not as mobile as others. If you get a high floor sea view room then your stay is even more improved. Nothing bad to say.

elaine, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great Rooms, great location. Much nicer looking inside than out! Nice clean open bar and lobby area. Helpful staff. The only criticism was how mean the breakfast service was. They seemed to be on a mission to hand out the smallest amount of food possible. 40 people trying to eat, eggs coming out 12 at a time, bacon coming out 12 slices at a time. No beans, no bread, no pastries.........
stuart, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Stayed 2 nights….noisy both nights…doors banging, noise in corridors. Also noise from outside….3 floors up above outside smoking area and window would not close properly so had to endure both noise and smoke smells.
Jill, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

Basic, book only if you need a central Ayr hotel

A very basic hotel in a great location. With a few exceptions service very poor (one receptionist very helpful, the others couldn’t care less. Ignored multiple times at the bar so went elsewhere. Breakfast staff pleasant). The hotel is in a terrible state and it surprises me that Accor allow them to use their name (albeit falling off the outside wall). Room comfortable in cooler weather but very dated, and the building and decor are in an awful condition.
Graeme, 3-night trip

Great service by the staff. Property is very dated but everything is in working order.
