Wonderful Carmel boutique Hotel

Wonderful tonight weekend stay celebrating a birthday. The hotel is beautiful with a warm and cozy entrance lobby and bar area. Service was impeccable from getting our luggage to offering us a welcome drink to the morning breakfast which was included. We walked approximately 20 to 25 minutes to/from downtown Carmel both nights for dinner.

If there were ten stars I would happily give them to Villa Mara! It’s a charming, small, beautifully run property. One block from the quiet end of Carmel’s iconic beach, it was the perfect location to spend our 24th anniversary. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The location is stunning, nearly across the street from the shoreline. My room, one of the cheaper options, was clean, classy and relaxing. The layout of the common parts of Villa Mara are interesting, making it so that you can socialize with other guests freely or keep to yourself. These are a couple of outdoor fire-pits, and a large gathering room with a bar, tables and a cozy fireplace. Best of all, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. I was taken aback by how genuinely kind they are. Plus, they offered me drinks and chocolates as I sat up reading by the fire at night. What's not to love? I truly could not have asked for more. This place is something special.

Charming and elegant, feels just like home!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary. This hotel exceeded my expectations! The staff was extremely friendly & accommodating! The hotel itself is GORGEOUS - so clean & new and feels like home. Lovely outdoor seating areas with fire pits (and blankets if you need them). Love all the complimentary touches - wine at the bar, continental breakfast and room snacks. (Unfortunately, my husband and I had to leave very early in the morning, before the continental breakfast starts, and they were so kind enough to set aside a couple of pastries for us to take on the road.) It was really nice returning back to the hotel in the evening and sitting at the bar warmly lit up by dim lighting and candlelight, chatting with Johnathan while we enjoyed a delicious pino. Super comfy bathrobes provided while staying as a guest. Lelabo Santal 33 products in the bathroom - yes please!! the hotel is literally just about a minute walk from the beach, and a very short distance, to all the shops and restaurants. However, in the evenings, since I was wearing high heels, walking was not in the cards for us lol. Getting an Uber to and from the restaurants was no problem at all. Overall an extremely wonderful stay and I cannot wait to go back!!
