Great for the price and close to Crater Lake National Park.

2/10 Poor

Ok, the person I met at reception was friendly. But after that it went down hill fast. The whole building seems very run down and the walls very thin. I could hear conversations in the next room easily. There was no kettle/coffee maker, just a rusty microwave and small fridge. The better parts of my experience were the shower, which seemed a recent renovation project and the bed, which was very comfortable. However the room was extremely noisy, with loud traffic noise all night from big rigs and trucks passing regularly disturbing my sleep. From the pictures, it looks quaint and “old world” but I shouldn’t have believe those pictures, in my opinion it’s very overpriced and would still be, even at half the price I paid.

We had a good time. The room was accommodating and clean. It was a bit difficult to keep the curtain closed that led out to the back of the property

The Dawson is an older property that is fairly well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. Chemult was close to our destination, Crater Lake. The locals told us the place was haunted, but we didn't see any spirits!

The balcony was cute and the room decorations were cute but the bed was hard as a rock and the jacuzzi tub didn't work or drain when I took a shower.

6/10 Good

The room was very basic. Not a lot of room. Linen and towels were clean, but the room itself needed a good cleaning and some TLC. The room we had was next to the road and there cars and trucks that went by all night.

Chemult is a small town relatively close to Crater Lake. The property was clean and the room was spacious and had both a fridge and a microwave. The room had a balcony overlooking a highway. Coffee was offered for a period in the morning, but breakfast was on our own. It is located on US 97, which is a major truck route from Canada, so trucks went by frequently throughout the night, which were easily heard in the room. Dining in the town was very limited.

Good enough for a night

Old hotel between the highway and the railroad. Not good beds but ok. Not quiet but ok when you are tired. Staff very nice, so good enough stop for a night. Accept dogs. A little market and Gas stations around to buy deli and groceries. Very good Mexican restaurant.

This is a fun, old school motor lodge, the kind of place that was the standard roadside place to stay in mid-century America. You drive right up to your room, and the manager gives you a real key, not a card, to open the door. Does it have all the bells and whistles that a generic, boring… Days Inn have? Of course not, but it’s got SO much more character and charm! My wife and I stayed here on our way up to southern Oregon, and greatly enjoyed it. There is an old bar right next door, the Klondike Klub, which has been there forever, and it is filled with very welcoming regulars. The room was comfortable, clean, cute and cozy. The manager was very helpful and friendly. We’re glad we stayed here, and will do so for sure next time we find ourselves in the Lake Shasta area.

A family owned lodge that is well maintained. I felt safe being a solo female traveler. Restaurant s, gas stations, minimarts, the post office are within walking distance.

The room didn’t exactly match the pictures, was very small. Work was being done outside of the room on porch & it was very noisy. TV was difficult to figure out & couldn’t control the volume to turn it done. There were what seemed to be fruit flies in the sink in the bathroom. Bed was good.

We were headed to Crater lake and it was only about 30 minutes. That is convenient considering the limited options around Crater Lake. Walkable to several cafes. Quaint but hardest bed I have ever slept on. Hotel is slightly run down, but adds to the quaint factor

The history surrounding the building was unique. We stayed in the loft area. It worked for our family of 5 for the night. Checkin was easy and they were friendly. No breakfast options but there was hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Unique rustic inn close to N.P.

Very friendly owner there to check you in and answer your questions. Felt more like a B&B with unique Decour for each room from the past, appointed with personal touches to this clean rustic road house’s charm. Big wrap around porch to enjoy as traffic goes by, with big convenient store across the street to stock up on any supplies, and parking just outside your door.
