If you are looking for an authentic Puerto Rican experience then this is the place for you. The caregivers of this place go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. It is up in the mountains so I recommend a 4WD vehicle. Beautiful surroundings, great breakfast and wonderful people!

Ricardo was our host and was so friendly, helpful, and kind! He provided recommendations for visiting the island. The property is beautiful, away from the busyness of San Juan. Loved hearing the frogs sing us to sleep every night. Not your typical hotel, what it misses in amenities is more than made up for in beautiful scenery, fresh breakfast, and friendly staff!

We loved the spot, it’s breathtaking and we will absolutely be back. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. Something to note; this property is under renovation after years of neglect. While it was perfect for us, we were not in the market for a resort. The hot tub was warm at best and same goes for the shower. There are areas that you can’t access for your own safety but still plenty of room. Very safe, very clean, very beautiful spot.

You can still see the luxury and opulence that this mountain estate once represented. We felt it everywhere for the week we stayed. But it was the management that made us feel most special. Ricardo and his family took us in and showed us a type of hospitality that we can only describe as gracious. We were invited to dinners on the rooftop patio, breakfast was always generous, the pool and hot tub were activated on our request and moreover we felt at home in this peaceful tropical retreat. Fun for families with teens

We stayed for three nights as a family of four. It was the perfect place to slow down. The scenes are stunning and food was amazing. Beautiful property with breathtaking views and a gracious and responsive staff. The pool is amazing - very large, well maintained and clean (without the use of a lot of chlorine). There are areas on the grounds that are undergoing renovations but that didn't affect our stay (no loud noises, etc.) You will be staying high up in the mountains so, for those who plan to drive their own car, keep in mind that the roads can be very steep and winding (we were told to rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle and were very glad that we did). All in all, a beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan (about a 20-to-30-minute drive to the beach). We would definitely recommend.

I celebrated my birthday weekend at Hacienda Montana Sonadora. The property is located on the top of a mountain so as you can imagine the views driving up were breathtaking. This place was unlike anyplace I’ve stayed before. The property itself is beautiful with spacious rooms, large pool with a hot tub and bars throughout. They offered hot breakfast every day and dinners. It was nice coming back after a long days of exploring the island to delicious home made meals. Thank you Dianne, Cordell and staff!!

Firstly, the pictures dont do enoughjustice to the actual beauty of this big estate. It is absolutely magnificent, surrounded by the hills and lush green. Ricardo and family's warmth made us feel as if we had come to vacation to our own family. Even after staying in a five star hotel after this stay, the kids felt Serena’s experience was better. Amazing rooms, amazing views and the best part is the pool. The kitchen is always open to you and Ricardo somehow just appears and is always there to dish out a cocktail or a snack or a dish. They even ordered meal from outside and brought it in for us bc we could not communicate with local restaurants in spanish. The instructions they send are very accurate. You do need a 4x4 else you will get stuck getting in or out because of a very steep climb into the property but incase you do, don’t worry as Ricardo will be there day or night to help you out. If you want yo truly relax, go here without any hesitation . We are definitely coming back. Thank you to Ricardo and family for giving us an awesome experience
