8/10 Very good

Overall a very comfortable room. The air conditioner made too much noise and so that was a negative.

Perfect, charming stay

We had an incredible stay at the Blue Iris! First, the location COULD not be better and absolutely made the trip. We also had trouble finding a room that would be comfortable for 3 people and this one was amazing, it had 2 comfortable beds AND two bathrooms. We really enjoyed the extra touches such as happy hour and breakfast, and access to the bikes. Definitely recommend! My only critical feedback: the staff was very kind but not able to answer some of our questions, and it would go a long way to have some light bites such as nuts or chips included in the happy hour as well.

Property was recently renovated and is in gorgeous, pristine condition. Has all the latest amenities, which is unusual for many guest houses in Nantucket. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience, although expensive!

High quality toiletries and linens. Very clean. Amazing walkability to the entire “Town” area of Nantucket with dozens of shops and restaurants. Easy pickup from Uber and 2 blocks away from the visitor’s center with a shuttle to Cisco brewery.

2/10 Poor

This was shown as a 5 star Nantucket hotel. The amenities were nothing near 5 star, and the staff was horrible. I highly recommend to stay away from this property. The customer service was absolutely terrible. There was no one at the front desk the majority of our stay. I hate to leave such a bad review since we absolutely loved our time in Nantucket, but the staff at the hotel was not present and we felt uncomfortable during our stay. The property and rooms are nice, but there were no staff members present. We were told there was complimentary breakfast from 8-10 but when we went downstairs there was no one was around. When we did see anyone (“front desk employees”) they were outside or in a closed room, often on their phone with what seemed to be friends, and not available. We did not feel welcome, and would never go back, especially for $1000 a night.
Jameson, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Small rooms. Weird, inpersonal check in, not a 5 star! More a 2-3 star. Not great. But good location
Andrew, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

First evening after check in, there was no staff available….although there was supposed to be until 10 PM OR by phone- both numbers posed were busy- we had questions/needs and could not get in touch with anyone, luckily it was not anything too crucial and we figured it out. The next day staff was very kind but basically did nothing for the issues. The continental breakfast was probably the least offerings I have ever had. Honestly, if not for the price, it would have been fine- but for the cost of the stay, it definitely was not ‘worth it’. It was clean, comfortable bed, pretty place with a beautiful patio/firepit.

Katharine, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The nightly rate of $600 carries a certain level of expectations which sadly, was not met. To start off, your staff seems very unhappy to work for the property. Initially, Casita was quite abrupt and we played along. However, after a few of these interactions, her abruptness got tiring and disruptive. As for the room, although nicely appointed, it did not seem thoroughly cleaned. The floor in the inside of the door was sticky and needed to be properly swept. The toilet seat also felt sticky and not properly sanitized. Further, the bath towels, apart from being quite small, did not seem clean. When we asked for additional towels, we were met with frustration from the staff and we decided to not insist. Sadly, although your property has great potential, the room rate does not match the quality of service and cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the room. We certainly feel that we overpaid.

The location was unbeatable and the hotel oozed charm with updates and attention to detail. Great decor, delicious little breakfast (the croissants were homemade and incredible, the juice freshly squeezed) and the staff was kind and thoughtful (there's a daily drink for guests each evening and when I told them I didn't drink alcohol, they brought me and my daughters a delicious non-alcoholic bottle....so thoughtful). Towels, beach chairs, bikes...they made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The only downside to the hotel was not knowing that the room we booked was below ground level with small basement windows that made for a pretty dim interior. The photos we saw upon booking show a beautiful room filled with natural light and the booking said "ground level" which is true in that it's a split level so the front room was below ground but the back room walked out onto a back patio. If we wanted some natural light and opened our shades, we were definitely on display to people walking on the street, so we kind of hated being inside, despite the beautiful decor and soft bedding, because it was pretty dark even in the middle of the day. If natural light and sunshine is something you value in your stay, I would recommend asking exactly which floor you will be on during your stay. I just get the icks in basements and a few spider webs and bugs in corners sort of underscored the feeling, even though it was cleaned each day and very updated and polished.
