Well it has to be said, much of the hotel needs a refurbishment. The reception area is fine as it is, but the guest rooms and bathrooms need updating. As it was a last-minute booking, I opted for a single room without bathroom so had to use the separate bathroom nextdoor. The room itself was adequate and the hotel in general very quiet. The most noise came from my very creaky bed frame, which combined with a slanting mattress, disturbed my sleep somewhat. As for the bathrooms, laminate flooring in a shower isn't the best idea, and the wood is on its way out. But the water for the shower was lovely and hot.
Overall, for a London break on a budget, the Gresham does the job. But it does need a touch-up.
