Upon entering my husband and I were impressed. Then we noticed the details. Broken accessories, peeling veneers, doors that would not close, a clogged sink, a sink that trickled out water, pubic hair in the tub, and a struggling air conditioning that did not cool down.
First night, the people in the next room were smoking pot and cigarettes which filled up our room with smoke. Add to that screaming, slamming doors at least two dozen times and vomit on the floor in front of our shared doorway.
The phone in the room in the room to call the desk did not work.
The carpets were so dirty our feet turned black. You would not be able to tell that unless you were walking on it. That was really unsettling.
Second night a family out the door in the parking lot was blasting speakers in their truck while cheering/dancing.
None of the people, either in the room next to us, or in the truck spoke any English. With limited Spanish, I couldn't say anything to calm the situation.
I went to talk to a manager but no one was on duty.
It wasn't until we checked out that the reception told me the phones were updated and no longer work. It was just a bad weekend that, after work, and a long drive down, we were hoping to relax and enjoy.
After I finally was able to tell the staff my issues they compted one night of the $30 a night 'clean up fee'. We were wondering why there was no housekeeping.
The only benefit was the location.
