We enjoyed our family trip to London and the Abbey was the perfect hotel for our needs. It’s right near the Notting Hill tube stop which was very convenient. We also enjoyed the local pubs, restaurants and the Portobello Market. The hotel itself was a blend of old & new. Our family room was larger than anticipated and very comfortable. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the location ideal. It was, however, tired. The TV did not have any signal (it occasionally sprang into life with a few words if left on). The bath (supposed to be a spa bath - but the function did not work) was cracked to the point of worrying about the ceiling below. The hot tap on the sink unit did not work, and the plug was missing, and the room was tidy and the decor needed a refresh. If you are looking for a bed at a reasonable rate near Notting Hill gate -this could be for you, but I suspect the photos were taken when it was in a better state and on a good day.

The young lady at reception was superb. I arrived early on check-in day, left my bag, and went out to do some things in London. When I came back in the afternoon, she had already taken my bag up to my room on the top floor (there’s no lift).
