We loved our stay at Ocean Shores! The nice lady checking us in upgraded our room and we were in a room with a beautiful view of the water and a good sized balcony. Friendly staff, very clean room, comfortable beds, and a table and chairs for all three of us. The day we left the owner came out into the parking lot before we could even get out of our car to take our keys and check us out. It was a really nice stay all around.

This is a nice place to stay in Homer for a relatively good price. It’s quiet and clean and our room had a very nice view of the beautiful scenery. It’s near some good restaurants and close to the Spit. The only suggestion is that they include a fan in the rooms—it got stuffy and hot during the night and there’s no AC or other way to cool the room except for a small window in the back door.

Room was as advertised. Clean, basic. If you need all the perfect amenities, this is not that place. Easy to find, plenty of parking, easy check-in and -out. Friendly front desk. From upper-level balconies there are great views below of the expansive sandy tidal flats and the mountains beyond. Find, follow the footpath down to comb the beach at low tide. It's a little known gem to this place and is awesome. But don't under-estimate the tidal range or how quickly it rises! Breakfast, and lunch/dinner restaurants are within easy walking distance.

View of the bay was outstanding. We watched a bald eagle fly by and land on the beach below and loved seeing the massive change of tides from our balcony. Need to know: there are several different buildings but that's not obvious from the website. When I booked our stay I pictured our room in the building predominantly featured in the photos. We were not there. Fortunately, we were "upgraded" to that building closest to the bay or I would have been very, very disappointed. (Other buildings have a view of the bay but it's definitely not comparable. This should be more clearly explained in the description. I assume you normally pay more for the front building. If so, it's absolutely worth it!) Microwave and mini-fridge provided. Extra blankets always make me happy. Staff was wonderful. My husband wasn't interested in the single-serve coffee, but we walked (10 minutes) to an adorable coffee shop. Love everything about this place.
