I've been coming to Argelès-sur-Mer since 1998 to visit my parents, but since the birth of my child, we prefer to stay in nearby hotels for convenience and to enjoy the pool. Upon arrival, I informed the receptionist that I was a regular guest at Le Cottage. She couldn't find my name because they had apparently changed their computer system. I also told her that my mother (recently a widow) would be coming to visit me and her grandson, to which she replied that it was no problem. The receptionist also asked if I had a car, to which I replied yes. She then informed me that parking would be 10 euros per night. I agreed and told her that for the next two nights, I would park elsewhere. As I was leaving (checking out), another receptionist asked me who the old lady was who had accompanied us to the pool. I replied that it was my 77-year-old mother. The receptionist wanted to charge me 20 euros (visitor pass), which I vigorously contested, arguing that it hadn't been mentioned at check-in, my mother had spent an hour or two in the shade on a chair (without even using the pool once) watching her grandson play, and we had all consumed hotel drinks. The receptionist also wanted to charge me 30 euros for overnight parking. I said I had only parked my car for one night, to which she replied that she had no proof. Luckily, I tend to take photos of my car parked overnight (for insurance purposes). Finally, if you'd like a better&friendly service, try Les Mouettes & Grand Hotel du Golfe!
