This is an older hotel and it shows. However, its outward appearance belies other accommodating features, such as its affordability, courteous staff, comfortable bed, old but functioning amenities (refrigerator, microwave, stove, television, small bathroom). It is in close proximity to metro and freeways. I would gladly stay here again on another trip to the Phoenix area and use the money I save to spend on dining and entertainment. "Don't judge a book by its cover."

This place needs some major updates and better cleanliness standards. My room wasn’t clean when I checked in, there were no other rooms available, and it was 11p after a day of travel. I had to ask for supplies to clean the sink and the toilet and linens-that while they were clean, were stained! I was able to get a new clean room the next day once one became available. The manager was unavailable the whole time and the staff was unable to do much though they were apologetic. It was a disgusting and disheartening experience and I will not be staying here again. American Executive Inn should be ashamed of themselves.

This Motel is one of my wife's and I's favorite when we visit the Phoenix area. The staff is beyond friendly. They are prompt. The owner has even added the personal touch. We've stayed here quite a few time. On one occasion it was getting late on our check in day. Something out of the ordinary for us, she literally called our cell phone to make sure we were all right. Nobody does that anymore. We feel part of the family!!!!!! Two thumbs up!!! Way up.
