First let me say the staff were very friendly and pleasant. My room was large and sparse. It was in need of some refurbishment. Carpet was worn and tired. There were plaster marks on the wall where damage had been fixed but not painted. There was a lot of road noise and when the traffic started at 5:40am I was unable to sleep. The bedroom was clean and tidy and the bathroom had been renovated and was large, nice and fresh. The hotel is well located in central Gisborne. The hotel has an odd layout that makes the experience of getting around unusual. The parking situation is effectively offsite and all a bit odd. All in all just a bit lacking in upkeep and cohesion.

No.. the room needed a good clean.. especially the net curtains, they need a wash.. we stayed for 3 nights and our room didnt get serviced.. just had a plastic bag of fresh towels left at our door
