Disappointing stay at Hotel Nuevo Boston in Madrid. The service and facilities are not what I would expect from a four-star hotel. For example, there was no coffee maker in the room, and the staff at the front desk was unfriendly. There was only access to tap water, which did not taste good. We could buy only expensive (4 Euros) bottled water in the bar (there was no vending machine or other alternative, for example, filtered water). Finally, our room was facing the freeway, and despite listing sound-proof windows, that was far from the case. There was no nice area to sit in the hotel - the area shown in the picture is immediately next to the dining area and not a place you would want to sit and read a book.
The room itself was nice enough, and the bed was comfortable.
Finally, the free shuttle to the airport was convenient on the day of departure but very difficult to use upon arrival as it can only be booked by telephone and cannot be booked in advance.
