We found a hotel we already knew, completely renovated, with a manager who was always attentive and ready to meet all our needs. The housekeeping staff was also very attentive and kept the rooms spotlessly clean.
The only downside was the guests themselves, who had absolutely no manners. They talked loudly until all hours, slammed doors as early as six in the morning, and gathered outside our room to chat for hours. To top it all off, there was a dog that barked incessantly all night, even though dogs are strictly forbidden in the hotel! A strict set of house rules posted in each room would perhaps restore some semblance of peace and quiet. Having traveled extensively throughout America, I know this phenomenon is common: people who, once they're up, assume everyone else should be too!
