The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. There are no frills in the rooms but the bed is comfortable and the area is quiet. The restaurant is right next door. And they have an ice machine behind the lobby. It's a very nice small town to visit. There are several shops and other places to eat within walking distance. The walking paths are clean and the people are friendly.

This is an interesting old hotel and you should only come if you really want to enjoy the advantage of stepping back in time. A journey the hotel is a lovely restaurant and the chef there is unbelievable. Be sure to tell him that we all said hello.

Staying here is an experience. It is a great experience if that is what you're looking for. The location is great. The library is unique (I loved it). There is no staff around, giving you a strong sense of independence. It is a beautiful, old-timey hotel. However, the ceiling lights did not work, and you couldn't look out the windows: they were frosted and were covered with a heavy, dark curtain.

Nice historical hotel.

The stay in the presidential suite was good except one thing. No door or wall between the two bedrooms just open no privacy at all. And the bunk bed mattress was very sqeeky very old. But overall it was a nice historic building with a lot of antique stuff. Staff was excellent and restaurant was good. Would stay again.

the hotel is truly gorgeous. complete with its own restaurant bar. nice high ceilings, working A/C, etc. The only issue i really had was a room mix up, and the fact that all the staff immediately goes to work in the restaurant so you have to go looking for assistance if you have need of anything.

We liked everything about it. The staff went above and beyond. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The room was spacious and comfortable. We love the historic look of the whole hotel. Walking to the lake and downtown restaurants and stores was close by. The attached restaurant was amazing. We will be back

The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and the cafe on the first floor was good. The staff there was friendly. As hotel guests, it was frustrating that there was no hotel staff to talk to - especially when we ran out of toilet paper. There was no extra in the room and calling the hotel didn’t get me to a person to ask about the TP. It would have been nice to have someone talk to.

The Cafe Nola was excellent, the staff was nice. The room was okay, as the second 'bedroom' was open to the first, and had a creaky, metal bunkbed for kids. Was too expensive. The shower was great, but the room was right by the main road with no 'block-out' curtain (so it was noisy and BRIGHT every time a car drove by. Access to the lake with the walking path was great. A mixed bag, really. I gave the stay a 4, but the room was a 3 and the food was a 5, so 4 is the average.

No staff. Check in was a sheet of paper left at the front desk with a pen and a room key, literally. Room was small but adequate. HVAC was a window a/c unit that leaked outside air in. Heat was central, adjustable but when the outside temp. was 39 degrees, roomgot to 62!
