Very interesting place to stay and visit. Weekend activity of drumming and children dancing lessons lead by a line up of drummers… Food was good and available on site. Rooms with air conditioning. Spent four nights…. Always would return for more cultural experiences.. Thomas USA

I loved the reasonable price for the standard room. The food was very tasty and nutritious. The traditional dance performances close by and the band playing danceable music on the beach were exhilarating. I also loved the Saturday morning children’s dance classes in the dance studio on the main floor. The staff was very friendly and attentive

The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The area is a little off the beaten path and we were able to walk to the beach, eat, drink, and relax. Generator, A/C, hot water, and hospitality never failed! 10/10

When we struggled to find an Uber, the receptionist arranged a cab for us. The service and privacy were top tier.

The property was beautiful, clean, and inviting. The only things I didn’t care for was climbing the stairs, being told that the only rooms available were family rooms, when the hotel was empty, WiFi only working in the conference room, none of the TVs in the rooms worked, the roads to the place are treacherous, and the place was left completely open all day and night, so anyone could enter. Oh and not being allowed to flush your used toilet paper. We had to put them in the trash. The food was amazing! The staff is stupendous!!!

My family and I stayed here at this hotel for 10 days (Dec 2024-Jan 2025). From the very first day, our stay has been nothing less than spectacular. From the exceptional warm hospitality of Eric and the staff (Including the night guard Sammy) to the warm welcoming greeting of “Akwaba” from the people in the community. Everyone we encountered/saw greeted us and were super nice. We felt welcomed, and most importantly, we felt at home. The atmosphere in the community is indicative of the entire Ghanaian vibe that is felt everywhere we visited We had a PERSONAL CHEF! Who at every turn was willing and very capable to cooking every and any dish we wanted to try. (Joloff Rice, Palava, Lobsters and BlackEye Pea Stew were our favs). The rooms were very clean and we were offered cleaning service every 3 days or as needed. If you are looking to get the real Ghanaian community feel, along with cultural vibe, drumming and dancing, the ACCH is where you should stay. Will definitely will return and stay at this hotel. We are grateful for this experience. Loved meeting the children in the community and spending time with them. We loved walking to the beach which is like a 10 min walk from the hotel.

We had never been to Ghana and liked the sound of staying at a Cultural Center and Hotel. Akpe was not a standard American hotel, but it was amazing in many ways. Safety was never a concern, even while walking around the village during all times of the day. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach, but we really enjoyed walking through the village, mingling with the shop owners and meeting the people on the way to the beach. The beach was stunning and we really enjoyed our time in and around the beach, where there were lots of locals enjoying themselves as well. At the hotel, every meal was 5 stars from the Chef, James. And Samuel, who was the property overseer of sorts, was a wise older gentleman that we talked with for hours and he showed us the village. Everyone was kind and welcoming throughout the village and at the hotel. We also interacted with local children, and made a special connection with Isaac, in particular. We are remaining in contact with him even today. Our only complaint was regarding the roads to get to Kokrobite from Accra. The trip from Accra was 28 Km, but it took over an hour to arrive. This should also be a consideration if you plan to take any day trips during your visit. Factor in extra time because of the roads and not being in a central location.

Akpe is a wonderful place. If you are looking to experience the real vibe of Ghana and be in a more village setting I would recommend! Even if just for a couple days! The center itself is all about empowering the youth in community so there is drumming and dancing and the proceeds go to that. Staying here is making an investment into the community! Eric was an outstanding host! He supported our stay so it was comfortable and even gave us suggestions for the rest of our trip. They will call a car for you if/when you need it! Eric has a private chef there and her food her off the hook! Make sure you ask for the fish and banku for dinner, life changing! For breakfast they have this amazing brown bread! I wish I could take back to the states with me. The fruit is amazing too the white pineapple is a treat! Don’t eat too much though. LOL The local beach area is nice too and you can walk to Millys where they have a nice outdoor bar vibe on the beach on the way there are other resorts too, you can pop into and have direct beach access. Anything you need dont hesitate to ask Eric! He will literally help you with everything. The room also includes AC and clean bathroom. It’s a humble and rewarding experience! Please try Akpe it’s worth it! My husband and I started our Ghana trip there for the first couple days and we loved it! Eric will arrange transport from the airport to the center safely! Also if you are a group looking to have a cultural experience consider this place!

Eric, the manager, went out of his way to secure me an 'on arrival' visa and was a dilligent host. Staff were all really nice and as a Cultural Centre as well as hotel, does vital work with local children, teaching them self esteem using drumming and dancing which I gladly took part in. Good Luck Akpe!!
