Hotel stay Mexico City
I recently stayed at Casa Socrates and would like to share my experience. The location of the property is truly amazing, making it convenient to explore the surrounding area. While I found the pricing to be fair overall, I was disappointed with the specific studio I stayed in, unit in top floor on the side of the street.
The size of the unit is average, but the lack of air conditioning was a significant issue. The apartment receives sunlight throughout the day, and the building's metal frame, painted in dark colors, absorbs heat. The glass balcony panels and sliding doors intensified the heat, making the room feel like an oven. Despite being 64°F outside, the temperature inside the studio reached a sweltering 82°F. We ended up laying on the floor to try to cool off, which was far from ideal. I would strongly advise avoiding the top floors facing the street.
Another concern was the customer service regarding extending my stay for one night. Initially, I received one quote, but when it came time to pay, I was charged a different rate. Additionally, they denied a discount that was prominently advertised in their promotional flyer inside the room. This inconsistency was frustrating and added to my overall disappointment with the experience.
In summary, while Casa Socrates has an excellent location, I would recommend caution when considering studio on top floor due to the heat issues and potential customer service challenges.
Also the bed is very uncomfortable
